Day One
This richly varied tour sweeps you from the Scottish capital across the Forth, with views of the world famous bridge, in search of the epic Highlands. At Dunkeld you take in the fresh air of the Highlands with a woodland walk before we climb steeply across the vaulting Drumochter Pass. The Highland resort of Aviemore and its bountiful cafes and restaurants beckon for lunch. The land rises again as we enter the Cairngorms National Park, home to a string of impressive peaks, before we pass the tragic fields of Culloden where the brave Highlanders last locked horns with the British Army. Soon we make for the Highland capital of Inverness, with time to explore before we search for Nessie at her Loch Ness home, then an overnight in Drumnadrochit.
Day Two
Fuelled by a hearty Scottish breakfast relax in Drumnadrochit or learn more about Nessie at the Loch Ness 2000 Exhibition Centre. You can then go monster hunting on a boat ride across the loch to picturesque Urquhart Castle. We follow the Great Glen towards hulking Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the British Isles. Lunch is in Glencoe, perhaps the most breathtaking of all the glens. We descend from the Highlands into 'Braveheart Country' taking in Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument en route to Edinburgh
