The Slochd
Slochd Mhor Lodge is a 4 star hostel with nature on the doorstep situated in the stunning Cairngorms National Park halfway between the villages of Carrbridge and Tomatin and right on the No 7 Sustrans National Cycle Route The Slochd, with it's holiday cottage, group accommodation and above all it's superb location, provides the perfect base for actvities in the Highlands. It is within easy reach of the Cairngorms and the ski centres, Inverness & Loch Ness. Surrounded by woods and hills there are wonderful trails from the doorstep and it's a great area for birdwatching, walking, skiing or just a quiet break.
Activities
The Slochd offers some of the best cross country skiing in Scotland! We have an extensive ski hire department with a selection of skis for trails and low level ski touring in the forest tracks. Also, metal edged cross country skis for touring at high levels. Alpine Skiing, at the Slochd offer instruction and guiding in the ski area for family's individuals or small groups.
We also offer snow boarding, mountain biking, a range of outdoor pursuits incliuding guided hiking and walking treks
