16th - 17th June 2007
Are you feeling hungry?
Good, because Carry On Tours is going to take you on a wild and crazy trip to deepest darkest Dorset where times are hard and farmers eat nettles...
A competition dating back to a dispute between farmers over whose nettles were the longest, this bizarre display requires nerves of steel and taste buds to match!
As well as the nettle championships, we'll have some traditional folk dancing for you, lots of good old English ale, some live music in the evening and a load of fun with some mad English locals!
On top of that you'll get to meet some of the wild ponies of the New Forest and you can visit the home of the Magna Carta and the tallest spire in the world...at ancient Salisbury!
Details...
Day 1 - We depart from London at 08.00 and head straight for the New Forest where we take a walk through the ancient Kings' forest and encounter the wild ponies that roam free in this hidden corner of England.
Eventually (because we know you can't wait!) we'll make our way over to Marshwood in time for the fun and entertainment along with a lovely big Hog roast and BBQ. Then we'll party into the night and camp out in the pub garden so you don't even have to worry about getting home!
Day 2 - We depart from Marshwood and head for Salisbury, Whose Cathedral is home to the tallest steeple in the UK and also the incredible and ancient Magna Carta, the very basis of modern day law in the UK, America and the Commonwealth
